Mission

Every minute, a piece of rainforest the size of 36 football fields is destroyed. Forever. As a result, animal and plant species die, jolting the local ecosystem. The natural water management in the world is disrupted, effects and disastrous consequences can be seen in the news everyday.

The foundation Save The Native Forest has an important goal: to preserve, protect and defend the rainforest and natural areas. We can carry out our mission by asking people and companies for donations. We can protect rainforest when we own it. We also use monetary gifts for reforestation and restoring the natural habitat if (sometimes partly) necessary in border areas. In close cooperation with the Dutch Foundation, the Ecuadorian sister-Foundation controls the purchase and preservation of the tracts of rainforest so that it is monitored closely how money is being spent. An important part of our mission is to make people in politics, government and private sector aware of the problem and get them to act with the rainforest’s interest in mind.
